- Be careful with candles and do not leave them unattended. Never sleep with candles burning.
- Do not overload outlets and extension cords. Remove electrical cords from under rugs and behind radiators.
- Never put a portable space heater near drapes, furniture, bedding, or other flammable materials.
- Keep flammable liquids away from the stove or other heat source.
- Remove all materials on or near your stove that could catch fire, including paper goods, dish towels, etc.
- Have a family escape plan and practice; know more than one way out.
- Keep matches, lighters and candles away from children
- Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors save lives. Install and maintain them.
